Buy a pothole, 111 other people have
A recession-hit German village is financing the repair of its winter-damaged roads by selling potholes.

Niederzimmern near Leipzig is selling its potholes online for €50 each under the heading, 'We need Tar'.

For that, the village authorities will repair the pothole and place a 'badge' on top with the buyer's name.

Prospective owners can choose a potholes by visiting the town's website http://www.niederzimmern.de. A yellow toy dump truck has been placed next to each hole to give a sense of its size.

The village has sold 111 so far and the mayor reportedly does not know how many potholes there are. The website is only showing photographs of ten.
